News Update
Website News:
I’ve been pretty busy updating the website with photos from the last 12 months worth of shooting that I’ve done, there are now more photos under the weddings, portraits and commercial categories. I’ll be adding more photos to the slide shows over the next couple of weeks, as well as continuing to work on our HD video.. it’s going to be pretty special once it’s done, a combination of photos and videos from several weddings that I’ve photographed recently.. essentially a show case of what Blaque Studios can do and what our style is like. This will go up on our website once it’s completed and I might put it up on YouTube as well, we’ll see how we go! I’m looking forward to getting everything running 100%. It’s been a busy 2 weeks since the launch of our website with over 1600 visitors to the site! It was great to get some feedback on the slide show for Shane & Jacalyn’s wedding photography, feel free to comment on any of our blog articles!
I’m not sure if everyone uses Twitter and Facebook yet.. but if you do, feel free to follow @blaquestudios and @paulmp on Twitter.. I’m on twitter most of the time, both when I’m at home or out and about (got to love the iPhone!). Also Blaque Studios has a page on Facebook that you can become a fan of.. head to this link to become a fan of ours: Blaque Studios Photography. Speaking of the iPhone, our website is iPhone compatible! I’m in the process of making it look more aesthetically pleasing on the iPhone and giving it a custom icon that you can book mark.. but the basics are there and it functions!
Studio News:
Well we’re still on the hunt for a premises for our studio. Bec and I went and had a look at a possible studio in Leederville on Oxford Street.. an area that we’d really like to open the studio in.. Turned out the place was much too small for our needs, so the search continues! I’m in the process of trying to book in to see another possible property that is about 112sqm, which should hopefully be big enough for everything we want to fit in our studio! We’ve already worked out who we’re going to get to assist us in the interior decorating, they are a local Perth furniture and homewares store called Minkz , they have some really cool pieces that we’d love to have in the studio, check them out and let them know we recommended them! We’re also looking at having a few one off pieces done by some of Perth’s amazing local artists.
Albums:
We’re in the process of designing and getting our sample wedding albums printed, once they are printed we’ll have some photos up on the site for you to have a look at too. We’ve settled on 3 types of albums, ranging from a fairly traditional matted album for our basic wedding photography package, through to a Fine Art album and a digital Magazine Style album for the middle and higher packages.
Photo News:
It’s been a very busy two weeks, with time shooting weddings, editing wedding photos, shooting some commercial client projects in a hired studio as well as some outdoor portrait sessions. I’ve got to finish off 2 projects between now and friday as well as finishing off a few portrait shoots I’ve done recently. I’ll have some photos up in my next couple of posts for sure!
We’ve been booked for a wedding in Phuket in May.. something both Bec and I are really looking forward to as we’re going to go away for 2 weeks, spending time in Phuket and Singapore, we’re considering heading into Malaysia for a couple of days too, we’ll see how it goes.
That’s about it for all things Blaque Studios at the moment, I should be putting a few posts up between now and Christmas. If you really want to know what we’re doing, follow me on twitter.. or you can read my more personal blog at http://paulpichugin.com/blog
